Sarah Melton

Sarah Melton, a Director in our Sydney office, focuses on lateral partner moves and senior level legal recruitment. Prior to her career in recruitment, Sarah had a successful career in human resources, including working as the Human Resources Director of Baker & McKenzie Australia.

She now assists firms to develop their partner acquisition and succession strategies and then conducts full search processes or makes targeted individual approaches to find the right partner/team. She also represents individual partners or groups of partners considering a move and approaches firms on their behalf. Sarah always aims to fully understand the career goals and drivers of the individual before providing detailed market intelligence and honest, pragmatic advice. She is well positioned to advise on law firm strategies and what makes a successful lateral partner in different firms.

She enjoys assisting partners in transitions that bring greater challenges and opportunities and also makes them happier. She also finds it rewarding to assist firms to reach their goals of acquiring new capability or bolstering key practice groups with partners who align to the culture of the firm.
